4.minum air putih cukup

Acne skin care

Acne is defined as a diseased condition of the skin that involves the hair and oil glands. It is characterised by pimples, black/white heads, reddishness and cysts. Face acne can spoil your appearance to a great extent and body acne can really ruin your day by making you very uncomfortable. Considering acne as a minor problem, some people tend to totally discard the topic of ‘Acne skin care’. However, the importance of ‘Acne skin care’ cannot be undermined in any way.

Acne skin care should really start much before the acne actually appears. ‘Acne skin care’ is more about being proactive than reactive. Acne skin care is about being aware of preventive measures. Acne skin care is - following daily skin care routines with complete discipline. So let’s have a look at how ‘acne skin care’ can be applied to our daily routine.

‘Acne skin care’ starts with the most basic thing - cleanliness. So morning showers are the most basic way of keeping the skin clean. In fact, a lot of people take night showers too (that not only helps in keeping your skin clean but also provides relaxation to your body and enables a good sleep). If you are living in a hot and/or humid place, a night shower becomes a must. In fact, a shower is recommended after any activity that causes high levels of sweat to develop. It’s a very effective ‘acne skin care’ technique.

However, acne skin care is not about just showers. Acne skin care is also about wearing clean clothes and sleeping on clean pillows. Moreover, too tight clothes can cause sweat to accumulate quickly; so soft and comfortable cotton clothes are recommended, especially if you already have acne. In the same sense, ‘acne skin care’ also advocates regular cleaning of your make-up brush and any equipment that you use on your body.

Besides that, you should also use a mild, water-soluble, oil-free and soap-free cleanser for keeping your face, neck and arms clean. Cleansing is the most important part of any acne skin care routine. Cleaners are the easiest and the most effective way of removing dirt, grease, pollutants and excess oil from your skin; thus reducing the probability of acne occurrence. Acne skin care also recommends removing your make up using a make up remover, and this should happen before you go to bed (not in the morning).

If you already have acne, do not try to touch them or squeeze them; it can lead to permanent scars. ‘Acne skin care’ advocates gentle cleansing and cleaning of the affected area using an over-the-counter medication and a clean/soft cotton pad. There are various acne skin care creams and lotions available over-the-counter (a lot of these acne skin care products are actually cleansers). However, if these ‘acne skin care’ measures don’t give you the desired results, contact a dermatologist for ‘acne skin care’ advice and treatment.

All about Facial skin care

Facial skin care’ is more a matter of discipline than anything else. A facial skin care routine is what you need (and you need to follow the facial skin care routine with complete seriousness). So let’s check what comprises an effective facial skin care routine. Well, very simply, a facial skin care routine can follow the following 4 steps:

* Cleansing
* Toning
* Exfoliating
* Moisturising

Cleansing is the first thing in facial skin care routine. Cleansing helps in removing dust, pollutants, grease and extra oil from your skin, thereby preventing damage to your skin. Just spot your face and neck with a good cleansing lotion or cream and gently massage it into your skin using upward strokes. Use a soft face tissue or cotton wool to wipe your face in a gentle patting fashion (do not rub). Cleansing should be done at least twice a day i.e. morning (as part of complete facial skin care routine) and evening (on a standalone basis). Water soluble cleansers are the best for inclusion in your facial skin care routine.

Toning is the next in a facial skin care routine. However, this is the optional part of the facial skin care routine. Mostly, proper cleansing can compensate for toning. Toning helps remove all traces of dirt, grease and excess cleanser. Instead of making it part of your daily facial skin care routine, you can using toning occasionally i.e. when you have been exposed to particularly harsh environment/pollution.

Exfoliation is again, kind of, optional step in everyday routine for facial skin care. However, exfoliation is necessary at least once a week (or twice, depending on the skin type and the environmental conditions). Exfoliation finds its place in facial skin care routine because of the natural tendency of skin to replenish the skin cells every 3 or 4 weeks. As a facial skin care technique, exfoliation helps in removing the dead skin cells that block the pores, thus assisting the skin in the natural process. However, excessive or harsh exfoliation can cause damage to your skin; so you need to balance it out.

The next thing in facial skin care is moisturising. In fact, moisturising is the most important part of facial skin care routine. Moisturisers prevent your skin from getting dry. Dry skin is really undesirable since it cause the upper layer skin to break, leading to dead skin cells. Again, use light upward strokes to make the moisturiser more effective. Moisturisers work the best when applied on warm and damp skin. So do not try to remove all the moisture in the previous steps of facial skin care routine.

Besides the normal facial skin care routine, you should also exercise the following for facial skin care:

* Use proper make-up remover instead of just washing it away
* Pay heed to your skin type and the environment, when choosing facial skin care products.
* Before you start using a new facial skin care product, test it by applying it on a short patch of skin e.g. ear lobes.
* Never rub your skin too hard.
* Use sunscreen lotions for protection against sun.

All about sensitive skin care

‘Sensitive skin care’ is governed by a few basic rules. However, even before we delve into the rules for sensitive skin care, it’s important to understand what a sensitive skin is. Sensitive skin is one which is unable to tolerate any unfavourable conditions (environmental/other), and which easily gets irritated on contact with foreign materials (including skin care products). For this reason, some products are especially labelled as sensitive skin care products. The degree of sensitivity can however vary from person to person (and depending on that, the sensitive skin care procedures vary too).

Generally, all skin types respond negatively to detergents and other chemical based products. However, the damage starts generally beyond a defined threshold (or tolerance level). This tolerance level is very low for sensitive skin types, leading to skin getting damaged very easily and quickly. Sensitive skin care products either avoid the potential irritants or keep them at very low concentrations.

Here are a few tips for sensitive skin care:
* Use sensitive skin care products only (i.e. the products that are marked for sensitive skin care only). Also, check the instructions/ notes on the product to see if there are specific restrictions/warnings associated with the product).
* Even within the range of sensitive skin care products, choose the one that has minimum preservatives, colourings and other additives
* Do not use toners. Most of them are alcohol based and are not recommended for sensitive skin.
* Wear protective gloves when doing laundry or other chemical based cleaning. If you are allergic to rubber, you can wear cotton gloves below the rubber ones.
* Another important tip for ‘sensitive skin care’ is to avoid excessive exposure to sun. Apply sunscreen lotion before getting out in the sun.
* Avoiding exposure to dust and other pollutants is also important for sensitive skin care. So, cover yourself adequately before going out.
* Use hypoallergenic, noncomedogenic moisturizer as a sensitive skin care product (if there is none specifically labelled as a sensitive skin care product)
* Use soap-free and alcohol free cleansers. Cleanse your face whenever you return from spending time out doors.
* Do not scrub or exfoliate too hard. It can cause reddishness and even inflammation.
* Do not leave the makeup on for too long. Use hypoallergenic makeup- removers.

So, sensitive skin care is very different from the normal skin care. Sensitive skin care is more about being careful with your skin (both in terms of sensitive skin care products and protection against environments atrocities on skin).

Activities Promoting Healthy Aging

Lack of activities can prevent you from living healthy. When you do not enjoy activities, you may feel fatigue or find it difficult to sleep at night. When you awake in the morning, you may feel tired until you finally fall asleep. As we, age our body change and we have to make changes to accommodate our lives.

Having a good night sleep makes the mind think more clearly. A good night sleep also boosts your energy while controlling your weight. You can also make decisions with less stress. Sleeping well at night makes our immune system stronger to keep us healthier. Researchers have proved that a good nights sleep is necessary for our health. Researchers have found that lack of sleep reduces the growth hormones in our bodies, since it changes muscles to fat. Sleep overall is most important, yet it stands behind activities. To improve your health, try walking each day.

Walking will help to loosen our muscles, reduces stress and depression along with anxiety. By reliving these things, it will help us to sleep for a longer and deeper period. So, when we wake up in the morning we feel happier and more rested.

When you exercise, you get a good night sleep, which promotes metabolism. Without the right amount of sleep, our bodies crave energy. Our body will release insulin or glucose into the bloodstream, which slows down metabolism. This action causes the body to gain weight, rather than control weight.

When a person feels exhausted, they will feel weak and repressed from enjoying activities. This leads to additional problems. Sleeping right balances out our bodies giving us, more energy leading to more activities that will satisfy our sleep needs.

What to avoid:
To rest proper and feel active you must reduce your intake of caffeine, nicotine, harmful chemicals, such as over-the-counter meds that keep you awake, alcohol and so on. The chemicals and substances will keep you awake. Try to avoid drinking anything after 8 p.m. in the evening. Nicotine should be avoid if possible, yet if you must smoke try to avoid smoking after 8 p.m.

Start a walking program in the morning to help wake you up, while boosting your energy. You will feel better since the joints will feel flexible enough to move freely. In addition, walking will help you burn fat and calories. You’ll notice a big change in how you feel the rest of the day. Start out walking at a slow steady pace for as far as your comfortable. Each day pick up the pace a bit and walk further. Just remember when walking that you want to work up to a steady brisk walk to make you sweat but not out of breath. Take a short walk before and after meals to calm your nerves, and burn calories too, it will give you energy, relieve that stress from the long day and help you sleep.

If you start a walking program for yourself, it is a lot more fun if you have someone to go with you. Talk to that neighbor you don’t know and maybe they’ll walk with you. Just think about it; you’ll be acquainted with someone new, talk about new things will relieve stress and get in you exercise as well. This might help that neighbor too who maybe hasn’t seen or talked to anyone in a couple of days and than they can sleep better at night.

After walking that brisk walk your doing be sure to cool down. When walking at a vigorous pace your heart rate will go up and it needs to be back to normal. Just walk a bit slow and relaxing until you’ve cooled down.

If you can’t go to sleep at night instead of getting up and turning on the TV try pacing around the house. Do some stretching and shake your arms and legs. Even walking around the house can relax you especially when everyone else is in bed and you can relax more.

Tips For Buy Skin Care Products

1. Skin Type
if you do not know what type of skin you have, you will be unable to choose the correct products for your own personal needs. Most people are either dry, oily, combination or sensitive.

2. Read the Label
it is important to read the whole label before buying a skin care product. Look for product containing a lot of water (as the first or second ingredient). This might be listed as aqua. Water is essential for well-hydrated skin.

3. What Season is it?
Your skin type might change during the course of the year. For example, if your skin tends to be sweaty and oily in the summer, take this into account when purchasing sunscreen or moisturizers. If you suffer from dry skin in the winter, avoid anything containing astringents or alcohol because this will just dry it out even more.

4. Check Prices
some products can be very expensive so you need to work out how much of the product you will be using and how many times a day it will be applied. What type of results does it promise? The most expensive products are not necessarily the best ones. Also, just because an expensive product gives a good result on one person does not mean it will be suitable for the next person. A product with a lower price might have to be applied more.

5. Use Faithfully
you need to use a product the way it was intended to be used if you expect it to work. This includes sunscreen and anti-aging creams. Sunscreen is to protect you whenever you are outdoors. This means it should be applied before walking down the street as well as when you are lying on the beach. If a product says to use it twice a day, you need to use it once in the morning and once before bed.

How Skin Care Basics

Do no harm to your skin. This may sound like a cliche, but if you were to remember just one thing about intelligent skin care, this should be it. You'd be surprised, but many (and often most) visible signs of skin aging are the result of harmful external factors rather than the natural aging process. Therefore, the easiest, cheapest and most effective step you can take to jumpstart your skin care strategy is to minimize avoidable external damage. By doing so, you will create a foundation for effective anti-aging treatments. Otherwise all your skin care efforts (except perhaps radical plastic surgery) are likely to bring minimal results.

Unfortunately, when it comes to complex biological systems, including the skin, things are rarely as simple as they appear. To avoid skin damage, you need to know what are the likely causes. You also need to realize that skin damage does not always cause pain or even visible irritation, and so may keep accumulating at low levels unnoticed. Below is the summary of the most common causes of skin damage and how to avoid it.

Ultraviolet radiation

Most people know that UV-rays from the sun and tanning beds contribute to wrinkles and skin aging as well as increase the risk of skin cancer. What most people don't know is that many sunscreens do not adequately protect from skin aging and that staying out of direct sunlight will prevent only part of sun damage. Since sun damage is partly irreversible, it should be prevented as much as possible. At a minimum, make sure you follow basic sun protection guidelines

Harsh detergents

Harsh detergents, particularly the so-called ionic detergents, may be harmful for the skin. They are called ionic because their molecules become charged when dissolved in water. The most common and ubiquitous ionic detergents are sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate (both acronymed SLS) and their analogs, such as ammonium lauryl sulfate, ammonium laureth sulfate and others. In facts, SLS is often used to produce experimental skin damage in clinical studies of skin protectors. As they are powerful detergents, SLS and analogs are widely used in household and body care products, such as shampoos, soaps, dishwashing liquids, laundry detergents, and so forth. (FYI, even regular soap contains primarily ionic detergents albeit not as strong as SLS).

Read the ingredient list on all products that come in contact with your skin. If they contain ionic detergents, eliminate or minimize such contact by using similar products with nonionic detergents, alternative cleansing methods, wearing gloves when washing dishes, etc. For example, if your shampoo or soap has SLS or its analogs, you can switch to non-irritating baby shampoo and glycerin-based moisturizing soap.

Chlorine and hot water

Hot showers and baths feel like a good thing. Your skin may disagree. Chlorine in tap water is an oxidative agent (that's how it kills bacteria) and may cause some skin damage. The hotter the water, the greater the damage because the rate of chemical reactions increases with temperature. Limit baths and showers to once a day or less and don't soak for too long. Make it warm, not hot.

Irritants

Skin irritants may inflict skin damage in two ways. First, they may directly damage skin matrix and cells. Second, they may trigger an inflammatory and/or allergic reaction in the skin, which, in turn, can cause skin damage by releasing destructive free radicals and the so-called metalloproteinanses or MMP (the enzymes that degrade skin matrix, chopping up collagen and elastin). Oftentimes the damage caused by the skin's reaction is greater then the damage caused by the irritant. This is particularly true for people with sensitive skin, whose skin develops inflammatory and/or allergic reaction in response to even very mild irritants. Everyone should try to avoid skin irritants. However, people with sensitive skin should be particularly careful.

Inflammation

Inflammation is a reaction of the body in response to various types of damage including infection, trauma, abrasions, burns and so forth. Occasionally, inflammation is a result of an autoimmune response (a malfunction of the immune system), in which case it may exist without external cause. Inflammation is an important and necessary part of the healing process. However, prolonged and/or excessive inflammation is damaging to the skin or any other organ where it occurs. In particular, inflammation causes a release of large amounts of damaging free radicals and MMP, which, among other things, accelerates the aging process. While occasional short-term and self-limiting inflammation from cuts, abrasions or cosmetic procedures should not be a major concern, chronic inflammation has to be dealt with.

The most common cause of skin inflammation is acne. Chronic acne should be treated. Keep in mind that some acne treatments (e.g. benzoyl peroxide) are irritants and can themselves cause skin damage if used improperly or excessively. Treatment should never cause more damage then the disease. Work with your dermatologist to find an effective nonirritating or minimally irritating treatment appropriate in your case. Don't settle for treatment that improves your acne but leaves your skin chronically irritated.

Other common skin conditions causing chronic inflammation include eczema (exema), psoriasis, dermatitis and inflammatory form of rosacea.

Puffiness

Puffiness in the eye area is a common manifestation of mild facial edema. Edema is a term for the excess fluid accumulation in soft tissue manifested by swelling. Edema stretches the skin and eventually leads to wrinkles and sagging. The eye area is particularly prone to edema due to the dense capillary network and lack of fat padding. It is important to know that significant edema (especially if not confined to face) may be a sign of a health problem, such as an allergy, kidney insufficiency or liver disease. It has to be investigated by a physician to rule out medical conditions.

A more common situation, however, is morning puffiness (mild facial edema that occasionally occurs in the morning and goes away during the day) caused by lifestyle factors (such as lack of sleep, alcohol consumption and others) rather than a health condition. It is important to minimize morning puffiness not so much because it is a transient nuisance on awakening but because it is one of the biggest contributors to the aging of the eye area

Facial expressions

Certain facial expressions, if repeated often enough, cause the so-called motion wrinkles. In particular, squinting creates motion wrinkles known as crow's feet while frowning causes forehead wrinkles known as frown lines. Many people squint or frown without knowing it. Ask people who see you every day whether you tend to squint or frown. The first step towards reducing squinting and frowning is being aware of it. The next step is to develop a habit / reflex to relax your face, especially when you feel that you are beginning to squint or frown. Also, squinting is common among people who are nearsighted and either do not wear glasses or have insufficiently strong ones. If you don't see clearly in the distance when your eyes are relaxed, chances are you tend to squint. Adjust your eyewear to ensure clear vision.

Overuse of makeup

Makeup products often contain potential skin irritants. For the sake of long-term skin health, it is best to use makeup in moderation, particularly in the eye area. Long-lasting makeup may be particularly harmful because it tends to contain harsher chemicals and also requires highly irritating solvents for its removal.

Overuse of skin care products

Indiscriminate use of multiple skin care products may have significant drawbacks. First, some products are simply ineffective: not only are they a waste of money but they may also prevent optimal absorption of the effective products. Second, some products can contain ingredients with potential for low-level long-term skin damage. Finally, many products with scientifically proven skin benefits, such as retinoids, vitamin C or alpha-hydroxy acids, may cause skin irritation and/or damage if misused or overused. Be very selective regarding what products you use and how you use them. Any extra time spent on research would not only save you money, but may help avoid unnecessary skin damage.

Excessive cleansing and exfoliation

Some skincare activities may do more harm then good when misused or overused. In particular, excessive cleansing strips the skin of protective sebum and may lead to dryness, skin sensitivity and other problems. Avoid cleansing with harsh detergents (see above) and alcohol-based solutions. (Alcohol-based cleansers / toners may be useful for people with very oily skin, but are too drying for everyone else.) Avoid washing your skin with hot water. Avoid cleansing and/or washing your skin more than two times a day.

Another overused practice is exfoliation. Occasional exfoliation may be useful: it refreshes the skin surface, increases circulation and brightens the appearance. However, exfoliation is a potentially damaging procedure: you use controlled destruction to strip off the top layer of skin cells. Ideally you remove only the dead cells on the surface of the skin a.k.a. stratum corneum. However, if you exfoliate too frequently or too aggressively, then you also remove and/or cause damage to living cells. Eventually that may produce long-term skin damage and exhaust the skin's long-term capacity to regenerate
